All About Ms. Morrison:
I am originally from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. My family moved to the United States when I was in the 3rd grade.
I grew up in Marietta and attended school in Cobb County.
I went to the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) where I received a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and a master's degree in Interrelated Special Education. I also attended Kennesaw State University where I received an Endorsement in Educational Leadership.
This will be my 29th year of teaching. I have been a teacher at Abney for 15 years. I’ve also taught at Hiram Elementary in Paulding County, Garrett Middle School in Cobb County, and Jackson County Middle School in Jefferson, GA. I also spent 2 years supervising the special needs preschool program for Paulding County.
I am a mother to a 20-year-old daughter, Jenna, who attends Kennesaw State University. I have a shih-tzu named Maggie who is my constant companion and a Dutch rabbit named Mew. I have two sisters: one lives in Atlanta and the other in Chicago. My mother still lives in my childhood home in Marietta.
When I’m not at school, I enjoy doing jigsaw puzzles, sewing, reading, and watching Netflix. I love chocolate chip cookies and McDonald's french fries. My favorite color is purple. I enjoy listening to classic rock and country music:
Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones....
I am looking forward to learning and growing with my digital learners.
We're going to have an amazing 2020-21 school year!
